Material Rhythms for percussion quartet was performed by Brett Jones and his students from University of Wisconsin, Superior at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra, Ghana and at The University of Cape Coast, Ghana in January of 2023.
The clave patterns that predominate Material Rhythms and a part of Afro-Cuban music. Clave patterns are infused in popular and traditional Ghanaian music and made this piece well-received by audiences in both Accra and Cape Coast.
